Two militants Killed as Infiltration Bid Foiled in Uri

Srinagar, Apr 23 : Two militants have been killed in an ongoing anti-infiltration operation near the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri Nala Baramulla district, officials said on Wednesday.

Sources told a local news agency, a heavy exchange of fire took place after alert troops intercepted a group of infiltrators in the Sarjeevan area near Uri Nala. The operation successfully foiled the infiltration attempt, resulting in the elimination of two militants.

A large cache of arms, ammunition, and other war-like stores was recovered from the militants , they said.

The operation is still underway, and additional reinforcements have been deployed to ensure area sanitisation, officials added.—(JKNS)
