2 Militants Killed, Army Man Injured in Ongoing Kishtwar Gunfight

Srinagar: Two militants have been killed and an army man injured in an ongoing encounter at Singhpora in Chatroo area in Kishtwar district.

The encounter broke out this morning after security forces received specific inputs about presence of militants in the area.

The joint operation codenamed ‘Operation Trashi’, is being carried out by troops of two Para SF, Army’s 11RR, 7th Assam rifles and SOG Kishtwar.

As per reports, a group of three to four militants were said to be trapped in the area by security forces, out of which two have now been killed.

An army man also has sustained injuries and evacuated to hospital for immediate treatment.

Intermittent exchange of gunfire was on, when this report was being filed.(Agencies)
