US President Donald Trump has once again positioned himself as a potential peace broker, declaring that Iran and Israel “should make a deal, and will make a deal”, much like the diplomatic breakthroughs he claims to have engineered during his presidency. In a post shared on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump compared the ongoing Middle East tensions to past global conflicts where, according to him, his intervention brought peace, including between India and Pakistan, Serbia and Kosovo, and Egypt and Ethiopia.
“In that case [India and Pakistan], I used trade with the United States to bring reason, cohesion, and sanity into the talks,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
He also referenced his past diplomatic interventions, including brokering peace between Serbia and Kosovo, and calming tensions between Egypt and Ethiopia over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. “There is peace, at least for now, because of my intervention,” Trump added.(Agencies)
