‘Looking for people who will walk with me’: MP Ruhullah drops hint at new political front

Srinagar, June 20: In a carefully worded address that stirred fresh political speculation, Srinagar MP and senior National Conference leader Aga Syed Ruhullah on Friday hinted at launching a new political platform, one rooted in “credibility” and “accountability.”

Speaking at Dak Bungalow Sopore before a gathering, Aga Ruhullah declared, “I am looking for those people who will walk with me, bringing accountability to the system, those who will stand for credibility.”

Though he did not directly announce the formation of a new political party, the tone and timing of his statement left little doubt that he was preparing the ground for an independent political initiative, distinct from the party establishment.

Significantly, no member of the National Conference’s Sopore unit was present at the meeting, a conspicuous absence that added weight to the growing rift between Ruhullah and the party’s leadership.

Observers on the ground confirmed that the event was organised independently and without the involvement of the local NC structure.(KNS)
