Woman Injured in Parimpora Srinagar Accident Succumbs

Srinagar, July 18: A 36-year-old woman who was among three family members injured in a road accident near the Mandi area of Parimpora, Srinagar, on Friday evening has succumbed to her injuries. The couple’s 3-year-old son remains in critical condition.

Officials told news agency JKNS that the deceased has been identified as Nusrat, wife of Bilal Ahmad Kumar, a resident of Charar-i-Sharief in Budgam. She had suffered a limb amputation in the accident and was declared critical before succumbing at JVC Hospital in Bemina.

Her husband, Bilal Ahmad, son of Abdul Salaam Kumar, aged 40, is reported to be stable. Their 3-year-old son, Hami, also sustained serious injuries and continues to remain in critical condition, officials added.

All three were rushed to JVC Hospital immediately after the accident. However, Nusrat later succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Police have arrested the truck driver involved in the incident and initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the mishap. (JKNS)
