Two of nomadic family members die after tree falls on tent due to gusty winds in upper reaches of Kulgam

Kulgam: A tragic incident occurred in the Upper reaches of Kund belt of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday evening after strong gusty winds caused a tree to fall on a makeshift tent, resulting in two fatality and an injury.

An official told that the incident occurred in the upper reaches of Kund in Kulgam when an alpine tree and boulder fell on their makeshift tent due to gusty winds.

“In the incident two members of nomadic family died on the spot”, he said.

The deceased has been Identified as Mohd Shafi Boker, and his daughter-in-law Reshma Begum residents of Reasi and were currently putting up in a tent in the Kund forests.

Meanwhile, Authorities have taken cognizance of the incident.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam Athar Amir Khan along with other officers visited the site after the incident to assess the situation.
