Army Soldier killed As Army Foils Infiltration Bid in Uri

Uri, Aug 13 : A soldier was killed in a fierce gunfight with militants after the Army foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of Baramulla district on Wednesday.

Official sources informed news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC that troops engaged infiltrating militants in a brief but intense exchange of fire.

They said the Army has launched a counter-infiltration and BAT (Border Action Team) operation in the area to track down the attackers.

Search operations were underway in the sector when reports last came in. (KNC)
