Drone movement triggers alert in border area of Jammu

Jammu, Aug 21: A suspected hostile drone was reportedly spotted this afternoon deep inside Indian territory in the Gajansoo area, close to the Indo-Pak International Border in Jammu district.

According to sources, the drone was observed moving over the area, following which security forces immediately launched a massive search operation to trace the object. The movement raised an alert among security agencies given the region’s sensitivity to drone-related incidents in the past.

While officials have not confirmed whether the drone managed to return across the border or dropped any payload, security personnel from different agencies have been deployed to scan the area thoroughly.

This is not the first such instance in the border belt of Jammu, where suspected drones have previously been sighted and sometimes used to smuggle arms or contraband. (KNT)
