CM Omar Abdullah cheers Kashmir Marathon runners

Srinagar, Nov 02: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday joined over 1500 runners to participate in the second edition of the Kashmir Marathon as he completed the half marathon along the picturesque Dal Lake in Srinagar.

Sharing his experience on X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister wrote, “Just completed the Kashmir Half Marathon. I didn’t set a personal best but I did improve on my effort last year. Congratulations to all the runners who completed the full marathon & the half marathon. Well done. #KashmirMarathon.”

Omar Abdullah was among several notable participants in the Valley’s flagship sporting event, which drew runners from 27 Indian states and 11 countries.

The marathon, flagged off from Polo View, witnessed participation from top officials, athletes and Bollywood celebrities.

Officials on the occasion, said the event not only highlighted Kashmir’s passion for sports but also promoted the region as a growing hub for endurance and adventure tourism.
