Rajouri, Nov 4: At least 28 passengers, including several students, were injured on Tuesday after an overloaded and overspeeding passenger minibus overturned in Rajouri district.
An official told news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC) that the accident left many passengers with multiple injuries. Two children who sustained critical injuries were airlifted to Jammu for specialized treatment.
The injured were initially shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri for medical care, the official added.
Senior district officials, including Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Tejinder Singh, and SSP Rajouri Gaurav Sikarwar, visited GMC Rajouri to review the health condition of the victims and oversee the arrangements put in place for their treatment.
Authorities have initiated an inquiry into the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that overspeeding and rash driving led to the mishap. (KNC)
