LG  chairs high-level security review meeting in Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov 11: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday chaired a high-level security review meeting at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar, to assess the prevailing security situation across Jammu and Kashmir and review ongoing measures aimed at maintaining peace and public safety.

During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor directed all security and intelligence agencies to maintain constant vigil and ensure seamless coordination at all operational levels. He underlined the need for a unified approach among the J&K Police, Army, paramilitary forces, and intelligence agencies to effectively address emerging security challenges and thwart any attempts to disrupt peace and normalcy in the Union Territory.

Emphasising the importance of prevention through proactive intelligence gathering, the LG called for regular monitoring of vulnerable areas, strict surveillance of movement across sensitive zones, and continued efforts to strengthen public confidence in the security apparatus.
The meeting also reviewed counter-infiltration measures, anti-militancy operations, and steps being taken to curb narco-terror and hybrid militancy in various districts.

Senior officers briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the current law and order situation, recent security assessments, and coordination mechanisms in place.

LG Sinha appreciated the role of the forces in ensuring peace and stability in J&K and directed the officials to remain alert and responsive to any potential threats, particularly in view of recent security developments and upcoming public events. (KNT)
