PM Modi Vows Stern Action Over Delhi Red Fort Blast: “Those Who Plotted This Will Not Be Spared”

Thimphu/New Delhi :Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking from Bhutan during his official state visit on Tuesday, strongly condemned the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, vowing that those responsible for the attack will face the toughest possible action.

“The horrific incident that took place in Delhi yesterday evening has deeply saddened everyone. Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. Those who plotted this will not be spared,” PM Modi said while addressing the Indian community in Thimphu.

The explosion, which occurred on Monday evening near the Red Fort metro station, claimed at least 12 lives and left over 20 people injured, according to police and media reports. Several vehicles caught fire in the aftermath, prompting a massive security operation in the area.

Investigation Underway

Delhi Police have registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosives Act, indicating that the blast is being treated as a possible act of terrorism. Forensic and anti-terror teams have been deployed to collect evidence from the site.

A senior police official said that preliminary findings suggest the explosion originated from a parked vehicle, but a detailed forensic analysis is still ongoing.
