Woman Succumbs After Being Hit by Vehicle in Chadoora

Budgam: A woman who had sustained injuries on Tuesday morning after being hit by a vehicle at Main Chowk Chadoora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district succumbed to her injuries in Srinagar hospital.

According to locals present at the spot, the woman was struck while crossing the busy intersection, which witnesses say has seen frequent traffic congestion during peak hours. The impact left her with visible injuries, prompting immediate help from locals and passersby who rushed to assist her.

She was shifted to District Hospital Budgam for medical treatment, from where she was referred to Bone and Joint Hospital Srinagar. She succumbed to her injuries at the hospital later in the day. The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Sobiya Jan, a resident of Zoonimar Srinagar.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law.

Notably, Chadoora Chowk remains a high-traffic zone where locals have repeatedly demanded stricter traffic regulations to reduce such incidents. (KNT)
