Renowned Kashmiri broadcaster, writer Abdul Ahad Farhad passes away

Srinagar, Dec 22 : Renowned broadcaster, writer and poet Abdul Ahad Farhad passed away suddenly in Jammu, triggering widespread grief across literary, journalistic and cultural circles in the Kashmir Valley.

Farhad was known for his contribution to broadcasting and literature and was regarded as a prominent voice in Kashmiri literary and cultural discourse.

His writings were marked by depth and clarity, while his public engagements reflected a strong commitment to cultural values, colleagues said.

He was associated with several literary platforms and had hosted programmes promoting literature and young writers, earning respect among peers and audiences alike.

The body of the deceased is being brought from Jammu to Srinagar, where his last rites will be performed later on Monday at Soura
