Jammu and Kashmir should go separate ways, says Shopian MLA Shabir Ahmad Kullay

Shopian, Jan 20: MLA Shopian, Advocate Shabir Ahmad Kullay, on Tuesday said he is in full favour of Jammu and Kashmir going their separate ways, asserting that both regions should be allowed to chart their own independent paths.

Talking to reporters to Herpora Shopian, Kullay said that Jammu should go separate and Kashmir should also separate, stating that such a division would allow both regions to live according to their own aspirations and priorities. He said Kashmir should live its own life, while Jammu should live its own, without political or administrative interference from each other.

The Shopian MLA said prolonged political disagreements and differing regional outlooks have made it clear that a single administrative framework has failed to address the expectations of both regions. According to him, separation would reduce friction and allow focused governance based on the unique needs of each area. [KNT]
