Srinagar Court Issues Non-Bailable Warrant Against Farooq Abdullah in JKCA Case

Srinagar, March 12: A court in Srinagar on Thursday issued a non-bailable warrant against former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister after rejecting an exemption plea filed on his behalf in connection with the alleged .

According to court records, the case relates to alleged financial irregularities in the affairs of the . The investigation agency has filed a chargesheet against several accused, including Abdullah, under sections 120-B, 406 and 409 of the Ranbir Penal Code.

During Thursday’s hearing, Abdullah did not appear before the court. His counsel sought exemption from personal appearance, stating that he was in Jammu.

However, the court rejected the plea, noting that the defence counsel declined the option of ensuring Abdullah’s appearance through virtual mode. Following the rejection of the application, the court directed that a non-bailable warrant be issued against him.

The matter has been listed for further proceedings on March 30, 2026.
