Jammu, April 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine die on Saturday, marking the conclusion of the Budget Session that was held in two phases.
Speaker said the session began on February 2 in Jammu and continued until February 20, before being adjourned for the Ramadan and Eid break. The House reconvened on March 27 and concluded its proceedings on April 4.
The Speaker stated that the Assembly held a total of 22 sittings and functioned for 11 hours and 36 minutes overall. During the session, eight government bills were introduced and all were passed.
Regarding private members’ business, 39 bills were received, of which 36 were admitted, three disallowed, and two were introduced in the House.
On the question hour, a total of 1,379 questions were listed, with some disallowed or withdrawn. Additionally, 110 calling attention notices were received.
In terms of resolutions, 138 were submitted, out of which 27 were disallowed, 14 listed, and four taken up, with two discussed in detail. The Speaker also noted that 2,231 cut motions were received, of which 2,059 were admitted.
The Speaker expressed gratitude to the members, ministers, the Chief Minister, administrative officials, media, police, and Assembly staff for ensuring the smooth conduct of the session.
