Srinagar, April 10,: A four-storey Islamic seminary, Jama Arabia Ashraful Uloom, along with an attached mosque, was gutted in a fire incident in the Hyderpora area of Srinagar’s uptown on Friday, officials said.

The L-shaped structure caught fire from the top floor, though the exact cause of the blaze was not immediately known.

Hundreds of students studying at the seminary were evacuated safely after the fire broke out, with no reports of loss of life, officials said.

The top floor of the building was completely gutted, while the third and second floors were partially damaged during firefighting and cooling operations.
