JCO Among Four Soldiers Injured in Accidental Landmine Blast in Rajouri

Rajouri, June 16: Four Army personnel, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), were injured in an accidental landmine explosion near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Tuesday.

According to officials, the incident occurred in the forward Kalal area of the Nowshera sector while Army personnel were conducting an area domination patrol. The blast was triggered after a landmine was accidentally activated during the operation.

The injured JCO and three soldiers were immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.

Officials said that as part of anti-infiltration measures, several forward areas along the LoC are lined with landmines. During heavy rains, some of these mines can get displaced, occasionally leading to such accidents.

Security forces have launched an inquiry into the incident while maintaining heightened vigilance along the border.
