Hakeem Yasin Pays Rich Tributes to July 13 Martyrs

Srinagar, July 13, 2025: Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) President and former Minister, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, on Saturday paid heartfelt tributes to the martyrs of July 13, 1931 honoring their unwavering courage and supreme sacrifice for justice and dignity in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement issued here, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen expressed profound respect for those who laid down their lives in the struggle for rights and freedoms. He described their sacrifice as a beacon of hope and inspiration amid the region’s ongoing challenges.

“The martyrs of July 13 embody the highest form of patriotism and a steadfast commitment to justice and equality. Their sacrifice reminds us that the fight for truth and dignity demands courage and perseverance,” Hakeem said.

He urged the people to honor the martyrs by fostering unity and resilience in the face of adversity. “It is our collective responsibility to ensure that their sacrifices lead to lasting peace, progress, and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir. Only through unity and constructive engagement can we fulfill the aspirations for which they laid down their lives,” he added.

The PDF President also called upon the government to recognize the martyrs’ sacrifices through meaningful and concrete actions. He stressed the importance of addressing the political, social, and economic grievances of the people and advocated for inclusive development that benefits all communities across the region.

Reiterating the need for dialogue and reconciliation, Yaseen emphasized that sincere engagement with all stakeholders is essential to build lasting peace. “We must work together to bridge divides and create a future that respects the dignity and rights of every citizen,” he said.

Importantly, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen demanded that July 13 be declared an official public holiday to honor the memory of the martyrs and to ensure that their sacrifice is formally recognized and remembered by all citizens.

The tribute event witnessed widespread participation from PDF leaders, party workers, civil society representatives, and members of the public, reflecting the deep respect for the martyrs of July 13.
