KISHTWAR — An intense encounter between security forces and militants erupted in the remote, forested general area of Kishtwar district on Friday evening, with operations continuing into the night amid a fierce exchange of fire.
The clash began around 8 p.m. during an intelligence-based operation by White Knight Corps, part of the Indian Army’s 16 Corps headquartered in Jammu.
“In an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Kishtwar, alert troops of #WhiteKnightCorps established contact with militants at around 8 PM on 19 Sep 25.
Exchange of fire took place. Operations are currently in progress,” the Corps stated on X, underscoring the ongoing nature of the anti militant effort.
