Jammu, Dec 3 : The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, met in Jammu on Wednesday morning and approved several departmental proposals, including promotions in the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department and the establishment of the Animal Protection Board, officials informed KNS.

The meeting, held at the Chief Minister’s Jammu residence at 9 am, focused on key administrative and developmental issues. Senior officials said matters related to electricity, reservation policies, and winter preparedness were also taken up for discussion.

A detailed proposal regarding promotions and service-related matters of officer cadres in the R&B Department received approval after thorough deliberations. The Cabinet also sanctioned financial support to cooperative societies working in the livestock and fisheries sectors to enhance their functioning.

Cabinet Minister Javed Rana told reporters that several agenda points were cleared, emphasizing the government’s aim to address pending administrative matters efficiently.

“There were also some minor issues discussed, but the main agenda centered on the promotions and proposals of R&B Department officers. Their seniority has now been confirmed,” Rana said.
