Evian, France, June 13, 2026: U.S. President and Indian Prime Minister are set to hold a bilateral meeting during the upcoming in France next week, according to senior U.S. administration officials.
The meeting will be the first face-to-face interaction between the two leaders since their meeting in Washington, D.C., in February 2025. Discussions are expected to focus on the proposed India-U.S. trade agreement, regional security issues, and other matters of mutual interest.
Prime Minister Modi began a six-day visit to France and Slovakia on Saturday and will participate in the G7 Summit in Evian on June 16–17. Ahead of his departure, Modi said India’s participation reflects the growing trust of global partners and the country’s increasing international influence. He also emphasized that India would represent the interests and aspirations of the Global South at the summit.
President Trump is also scheduled to meet leaders from Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, France, and India, and attend a working session with Ukrainian President .
According to U.S. officials, key topics at the summit will include economic growth, supply chain resilience, illegal migration, artificial intelligence, and securing critical minerals needed for advanced technologies.
The G7 gathering is expected to provide an important platform for strengthening international cooperation amid evolving global challenges.
