Srinagar/New Delhi, June 16: A social media post by Srinagar MP has sparked a political controversy, with questioning what she described as “bulldozer politics.”
In a post on X, Ruhullah recalled an incident during the last Winter Session of Parliament when opposition parties were protesting against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and other issues. According to him, former cricketer and TMC MP was allegedly asked by a prominent Muslim MP from outside the party to withdraw from the protest.
Ruhullah claimed that Pathan returned to his seat visibly shaken and later told him that he had been warned against protesting the BJP. He further alleged that Pathan was told authorities could bulldoze his house in Gujarat if he continued opposing the ruling party.
The Srinagar MP said that Mahua Moitra later reassured Pathan that the stood firmly behind him and his family. Ruhullah also expressed disappointment over Pathan’s subsequent political choices.
Reacting to the post, Moitra shared it on X and described the allegation as evidence of “bulldozer politics.” She questioned whether fear of such action prevented Pathan from standing up to the BJP and asked whether the media would seek answers on the issue.
The claims have triggered debate across political and social media circles. However, the allegations have not been independently verified, and no official response from the concerned parties had been issued at the time of reporting.
