Srinagar April 22: Ghulam Nabi Shaheen, a senior leader of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and father of state spokesperson Sara Hayat Shah, passed away today.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Salman Sagar wrote:
“With a heavy heart and immense grief and sadness, I share the news of the passing of Jenab Ghulam Nabi Shaheen—my beloved uncle, senior @JKNC_ leader, former MLC, former Provincial President @JKNC_ #Kashmir, and father of state spokesperson @SaraHayatShah.
The family is currently at the hospital and yet to decide on the timing of the Namaz-e-Janaza. I will share updates shortly.”
In a follow-up post, he confirmed: “The Namaz-e-Janaza of Marhoom Ghulam Nabi Shaheen Sahab will take place after Zuhr prayers at 2:00 PM sharp at their residence in Umarabad Sector B (Peerbagh), Srinagar.”–(KNS)
