Pakistan Troops Open Fire Along LoC in Kupwara, Uri, Akhnoor: Army

Srinagar, May 1:The Indian Army on Thursday said that Pakistan troops resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC) during the intervening night of April 30 and May 1 in multiple sectors of Jammu and Kashmir.

Army officials told news agency JKNS that Pakistan Army posts initiated small-arms fire opposite Kupwara, Uri, and Akhnoor sectors.

“The fire was unprovoked and was responded to in a proportionate manner by Indian Army troops,” the official said.

No casualties or major damage have been reported from the Indian side so far. (JKNS)
