Govt to Announce Early Winter Vacations for Kindergarten Classes: Officials

Srinagar, Nov 24: The Jammu & Kashmir government is set to announce early winter vacations for kindergarten classes tomorrow (Tuesday).

The move comes as temperatures continue to see a significant drop, making it increasingly difficult for young children to attend school during morning hours.

A senior official from the School Education Department told GNS, that a formal order in this regard will be issued tomorrow only, adding that Tuesday will also be the last working day for all pre-primary classes.

“The administration has been closely monitoring the weather situation, which has been marked by biting cold, overcast conditions and a steady decline in day temperatures.”

“The decision follows detailed consultations with the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) and takes into account repeated requests from parents,” said the official.

Meanwhile, winter vacations for Classes 1 to 8 will commence as per the previously announced schedule in the first week of December. (GNS)
