Woman found dead in Srinagar’s Bemina

Srinagar, Jan 4 : A woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her rented room at Sir Syedabad area of Bemina in Srinagar, officials said on Sunday.

Officials said the woman was found unconscious inside her rented accommodation following which she was rushed for medical assistance. However, doctors declared her dead on arrival.

The deceased has been identified as the daughter of Mohammad Rajab, a resident of Naidkhai Sonawari. The exact cause of death is not known at this stage.

Soon after the incident, police reached the spot and took cognizance of the matter. The room was inspected, and preliminary evidence was collected as part of the initial investigation. The body was later shifted for medico-legal formalities to ascertain the cause of death.

Police officials said a case has been registered and further investigation has been taken up to determine the circumstances leading to her death. [KNT]
