Mehbooba Mufti apologises for Jantar Mantar remarks

Srinagar, July 28 : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday expressed regret for her remarks at Jantar Mantar during Cockroach Janta Party(CJP) protests , clarifying that she had intended to say “Bahana Banta Hain” but instead slipped and uttered only “Banta Hain.”

Addressing the media here, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the former Chief Minister expressed regret over the comments made at the Jantar Mantar protest. She explained that she had meant to say “Bahana Banta Hain” but only managed to utter “Banta Hain” (justified).

“I gave bytes to a lot of people there. In one byte I said there is militancy and intended to say ‘Bahana Banta Hain,’ but I could not utter the word ‘Bahana’ due to hurriedness. I thought I had said that,” she clarified.

The former Chief Minister further said that the video in circulation is authentic. “I wouldn’t say that video is fake; it is genuine,” she said—(KNO)
