J&K CM Omar Abdullah Meets HM Amit Shah in Delhi, Discusses Statehood and Other Key Issues


Srinagar, May 11: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and discussed several important issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir, including restoration of statehood, reservation matters, and transaction of business rules.


According to details, the meeting focused on a range of political and administrative matters related to Jammu and Kashmir.


Earlier in the day, while speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Omar Abdullah said that restoration of statehood remains a major priority for his government and that he would continue to raise the issue with the Centre.


“I wish we had got statehood in one meeting. Then we would have got it long ago.

The process is going on, but whenever we meet, I always talk about statehood,” the Chief Minister said.


The meeting comes amid renewed discussions over administrative powers and governance issues in Jammu and Kashmir.
