Kashmir Man Missing in Delhi for 19 Days, Family Appeals for Help

Baramulla:Shabir Ahmad Shah, a 36-year-old street vendor from Neharpora, Sopore, has been missing since February 16, 2025, after traveling to Delhi on January 31 to purchase goods for his business. His family last heard from him on the morning of February 16, when he assured his wife, Mumtaza, that he would return soon.

The goods he purchased arrived in Sopore on February 18 and 20, but there has been no contact from Shabir since February 16. In response to his disappearance, street vendors in Sopore staged a protest on February 26, 2025, blocking the road at Iqbal Market and raising slogans against the administration and Municipal Council Sopore.

They demanded to be allowed to set up their stalls along roadsides or be provided a suitable place to carry out their businesses, expressing hardships faced over the past year due to lack of proper rehabilitation.

The family has appealed to the public for any information regarding Shabir’s whereabouts and requested anyone with details to contact them or the nearest police station at 9419431746 or 6005191534.
