US representatives heading to Islamabad, will be ‘there tomorrow evening for negotiations’: Trump

Trump warned that if Iran does not accept what he described as a “fair and reasonable deal,” the United States could launch strikes targeting key infrastructure in Iran, including power plants and bridges. He also accused Tehran of violating a ceasefire that is set to expire later this week.

On the other side, Iran’s Parliament Speaker confirmed that negotiations are ongoing but stressed that Iranian forces remain fully prepared for a possible escalation. He also reiterated Iran’s stance on restricting maritime traffic through the strategic if pressure from the U.S. continues.

Ghalibaf warned that Iran would not allow others to freely pass through the strait if its own access is limited, highlighting the importance of the route, which is a key global oil transit corridor.

Despite ongoing diplomatic efforts, both sides have taken a tough stance, with Iran calling on the U.S. to drop what it described as “excessive demands” before any agreement can be reached.

The upcoming talks in Pakistan are being seen as a crucial step toward reducing tensions and avoiding further escalation in the region.
